Why a Racing Partnership?

Whether it is the excitement of racing, the thrill of competition, or your love of the beauty and  spirit of the horses themselves, racing partnerships are the best way for most owners to get involved. 

Partners receive all the usual benefits of ownership plus a greater likelihood of success thanks to the experience of their partners.  Racing successfully requires complex knowledge, usually obtained over many years at great expense.  Partnerships can be an ideal vehicle for owners to visit the winner's circle sooner and more often. 

Now is the best time to get involved in racing.  Available purse money in North America rose to over $1 billion for the first time while the number of races has declined.  Average earnings per runner, average purse and total purses are all at all-time highs. 

Alternative forms of gambling such as slot machines, the continued spread of simulcasting and the potential of Internet wagering should all contribute to continually increasing purses.  The major reduction of foals in Kentucky in 2001-2002 due to MRLS may offer opportunities for other horses in major stakes races in the years to come.
